About Brett

I animate, paint, illustrate, draw, design, read, and think. I would like to make art that is beautiful and/or informative. I like collaborating with and working for other people's visions in addition to enjoying my own autonomous projects, and sometimes you're fortunate to do quite creative client work where you get to satisfy both sides.

I also enjoy creating software tutorials and technical explainer writing, searchable documents that can be skimmed, outlined, excerpted, copied, and archived.

I am a graduate of the Missouri State University Bachelor of Fine Arts Computer Animation program.  I'm fairly versatile with software, training in Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. and Newtek LightWave 3D. Nowadays when possible I use Blender, FFmpeg, Krita, GIMP,  Inkscape, Scribus etc, free and open source tools that make files accessible for clients and collaborators, and easy to retrieve in the future.

In my professional and personal life I aspire to a compassionate, pleasurable, and sustainable world.  I'm interested in all arts, as well as reading both nonfiction and fiction especially science fiction, gardening, cooking, science, nature and hiking, human rights, and making things.  I have sometimes been seen bicycling around Springfield, Missouri where I live and work.
